After the stage premiere of the dance opera MIRAK in 1999, AlienNation Co. was invited to present two acts from the opera at the 2001 Houston Composers Alliance concert at Duncan Hall, together with new compositions by other contemporary composers, including John Adams, Daniel Kramlich, John Thow, and Reynaldo Ochoa.

MIRAK IV and VII was performed featuring new revised music by Steve Pare, vocals by Andrea Birkman, Isabelle Ganz and Mary Hines, and digital films by Serena Lin and Johannes Birringer. The recital was conducted by Steve Pare.
